Sunj is a very popular anchorage with bareboat charters and flotillas alike and is located on the southern end of Lopud Island. Don’t let its popularity put you off; Sunj makes an excellent lunchtime and swim stop when sailing en route to and from Dubrovnik.
The sandy beach is surprisingly busy during the summer months when it is inundated by golf cart loads of tourists, trucked overland from the massive hotel on the other side of the island.
It is also a magnet for the sailors of the region as gently bobbing yachts are well sheltered from the prevailing summer winds, the sandy floor offers good holding and its open water location ensures clear seas.
There is a small restaurant in the bay that only opens during the day.
