Kneza is a wonderful anchorage on the north side of Korcula Island approximately five nautical miles west of Korcula town at the end of the Peljesac Kanal (the channel between Korcula and the Peljesac Peninsula). There is good shelter here from the fresh northerlies that can spring up in the summer months and sweep down the channel.
Although there are not a lot of supplies to be had here (there’s just one tiny shop), there are a couple of laid back restaurants and bars which more than make up for that shortfall.
Try and anchor on sand here if possible as the Poseidon weed can be very thick in parts making holding poor in some areas.
Hotel boats longline to the various islets in the bay and if a strong bora (a katabatic N to NE wind) is forecast it pays to follow suit and try to longline to Malo Kneza if possible.
