Kamerye Island: Ruins of a Byzantine church on the island also known as Camellia
This small island, just west of the entrance to Selimiye Bay, is the site of a number of Byzantine ruins, including a church and monastery. The church was apparently going to be restored a few years back but looked unchanged when I passed by in late 2012 (though I didn’t have time to go ashore).
Other than the ruins, there’s nothing else here. In good weather you can anchor on the south side for a stroll ashore or swim stop.
