22 Fathom Cove

And now for something completely different! A restaurant afloat, run by Gocek Bay’s local eccentric, Ragip and his long suffering wife. You’ll spot him immediately in his bearskin hat and if he really likes you he’ll show you his extensive gun collection!

Ragip used to run the excellent restaurant at Cleopatra’s Bay, until the authorities deemed his paperwork to be out of order (along with several other restaurants) and levelled the place. After several years in jail (a sentence extended as he managed to evade capture at the first attempt) he re-emerged at the same place but running the restaurant on his boat.

This ploy wasn’t entirely successful but since moving to 22 Fathom Cove he’s continued without further interruption for the last few years and with a bit of luck will still be there by the time you visit. The food is the usual Gocek Bay fare but it’s well worth a visit for the company. It’s a pretty spot too.

Sadly, it’s removed one of the sources of entertainment. Ragip’s old restaurant was so secluded the mobile phone signal was only strong enough to ring the phone, not to talk. To be heard, he had to run down to the quay, jump in his boat, and head out in to the middle of the bay. By which time his phone had invariably stopped ringing! His arrival back on shore was greeted with endless cries of “Who was it Ragip?”
