Once a tiny fishing village, Kalami is now a peaceful, if at times busy, holiday settlement. It’s a pleasing and pretty anchorage. There is a small jetty in front of one of the tavernas but you will be lucky to get on it.
Ashore there’s a good selection of tavernas and cafes around the bay. There are several mini markets. Most of the accommodation is tucked away amongst the trees so it doesn’t seem too over developed.
Water sports are usually available for the energetic whilst sun loungers and umbrellas are available for the more lethargic. The water is nice and clear if you want a swim.
The village was home to English writer Lawrence Durrell, brother of naturalist Gerald and his house remains to this day.
