The island of Gemiler is home to numerous ruins dating back to the 4th Century. Excavations have only begun in recent times but have already revealed an impressive mosaic pavement. Who knows what more will emerge in the coming years.
You can anchor just off the island and there’s a small admission fee if you go ashore to explore. If ruins aren’t your thing, it’s a great place for a swim.
There’s usually an ice cream vendor zooming around between the yachts. Prices are whatever they think they can get away with so haggle hard!
If you’re staying overnight and don’t fancy catering on board, there’s a restaurant in the bay just opposite the island, or hop around to Karacaoren.
