About the Paxos flotilla

The 1 week Paxos flotilla explores the area south of Corfu. It’s an easy flotilla, an ideal introduction for the less experienced.

The flotilla takes in a variety of towns and villages, both islands and on the mainland. There are plenty of beaches to enjoy and the opportunity to try some watersports. There are some good walks too.

You will visit ancient settlements and newer developments. Plataria dates from the 2nd century BC whilst Petriti is only about 50 year old. You’d be hard pushed to tell though – it looks much older.

The Paxos flotilla stops at some less visited places where traditional food will predominate. Elsewhere, you will find some anglicisation of menus – this is after all a popular tourist area.

  • Petriti (Corfu)
It’s hard to believe anywhere on Corfu can be as quiet as Petriti, or that this small village was only built in the last 50 years. Set amongst gently sloping olive groves, it’s a charming spot. The rocky bay includes a beach immediately south of the harbour and there are a couple of restaurants. Shopping opportunities are rather ...

Mongonissi is a delightful bay between the beautiful islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. Much loved by the Italians, this area has a sophistication you wouldn’t normally associate with such a small place. Strong southerlies do not penetrate here and in the prevailing northerlies the quay is secure and serene. Whether you are on your own ...

  • Plataria
Visiting yachtsmen aside, Plataria is off the tourist trail. Consequently, the excellent sand and shingle beach lined with palm trees is rarely busy although it’s just a few minutes walk from the harbour. The small town here dates back to around the 2nd Century BC, though it’s had a few name changes along the way. Considering how ...
