Saranda is the capital of Albania’s riviera. For long popular with “local” holidaymakers from Tirana, it’s increasingly visited by international travellers. It’s well located for a visit to the ancient city of Butrint and for the historic mountain town of Gjirokastra.
Of course, the main attraction is the beaches. As often the case, the nicest of these are outside the main town.
In terms of provisions, the town offers all you would expect, with butchers bakers, supermarkets and a good fresh market. All you need for your holiday.
